Private lessons

Do you want to learn or improve your sailing or windsurfing? That’s possible at Zeilschool Zuidlaardermeer! Our experienced and CWO educated instructors would love to help. The courses are good for beginners, but experienced sailors and surfers we would love to help too.

Private lessons, what does that mean?
  • The applicant determines when there will be sailed.
  • This is possible during the weekend and in the high season during the whole week, from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm. or from 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm.
  • Other days by appointment.
  • The applicant determines the group composition.
  • If the weather is disappointing due to too little or too much wind or, for example, thunderstorms, the lesson is cancelled and moved in consultation with the student.
  • The appointment of a lesson must take place at least 7 days in advance.
  • In the summer season this is possible in the short term.

    The private lesson is an intensive form of teaching which is not suitable for kids under the age of 14. Do you happen to have some experience already, but u want to learn more, then you can book separate and loose hours (min 2 hours)

    Beginner course sailing

    To learn the sailing we have set up a course of 3 times 3,5 hours. This course Will teach up to the level of CWO 1 (starters). The course takes 1 or 2 persons into account. It is possible to sail with 3 or 4 persons (a maximum of 4 students per boat). In that case there Will be a need of more hours in order to reach the goals of the starters level.

    At the end of the course the student is able to;
  • Make the boat ready for sailing (or prepare it for the night) and lift / lower the sails
  • Sail away from the harbour and easily re-install it
  • Know the sailing positions, how to steer, place in the boat, how to tack and jibs
  • Know the terminology and sailing regulations
  • Beginner course surfing

    The surf course of 7 hours offers a basic level with which the student can continue. For surfing, "practice makes perfect". The advantage of this lesson is that with the right techniques there will be much faster results and progress.

    After one lesson the student is able to;
  • Prepare the rig and plank, carry the rig and let it go to the water
  • Balance on the board, simple turn of board and sail
  • Sail up, take the starting position and surf
  • use the correct posture, steer, know the sailing positions, know how to tack and jib
  • Know the terminology and sailing regulations
